In the settings section of the readme this doesnt make sense:
layout
Whether to use a layout (true or false), if it’s a Symbol, specifies what template to use. Example: erb :index, :layout => request.xhr?

Shouldn't that be erb :index, :layout => !request.xhr??
If it's an xhr call a layout seems unnecessary...
