I have some content for this. Do you think there is a good place in one the exercise that it might be worth having a requirement to use them @joshnesbitt. Or should we just leave it to candidates to apply what they have learnt if they see the use case?
I quite often them use them in tests where I am stubbing and don't care what the return is to be. Maybe we could just work in good places to use them in a workshop?

I think it's important to teach the difference between strings and symbols (such as them being immutable), but I don't know how much more detail we need to go into them. Maybe we could pull a few bits from here:
