Right now the area calculation (https://github.com/skyportal/skyportal/blob/main/skyportal/models/observation_plan.py#L406) is much faster than the probability calculation (https://github.com/skyportal/skyportal/blob/main/skyportal/models/observation_plan.py#L474).

Leo has a PR looking at benchmarking the calculation in healpix-alchemy.
