I have tried for a few days to install strid & failed. I have OCaml/opam running, both on Mac OS X & on Ubuntu VM. I run into errors regarding the graphics package (which was partially fixed by installing xquartz etc.), compiling the code, & type errors (expecting byte instead of string). I would love any help you could provide in terms of getting this to work!

Or if there are workarounds/new implementations that I might not be aware of (I tried freetikz/tikzit, but not entirely satisfied)... Thank you!

Could you show the precise compilation errors you are facing?

Also, I recently corrected compilation problems with respect to String vs Bytes. Did you try with the git version?
