Before opening this kind of issue, please ensure:

  • Are you using a compatible console version?
  • Are you using CD-R media, and not CD-RW?
  • Did you copy all the files in the expected format to the memory card?

tonyhax version: Which version are you running? Please ensure you are running the latest stable, or a newer beta.
ver 1.3.3

Installation method: How did you get tonyhax on the memory card?
freemcboot uLE on a ps2

Entry point game: Which game are you using to launch tonyhax?
none - im using the FreePSXboot version

Console model: Console product code, written on the bottom of the unit, such as "SCPH-7502"
SCPH-5501

Integrity check: If it boots, does the built-in integrity check succeed?
It doesn't. The whole thing freezes at the MemoCard/CD Player screen for more than 5 minutes

BIOS version: If you can get to boot, which version of the BIOS does it report?
if it does, by BIOS is 3.0 (1996-11-18) A

Target game: If the bug happens when launching a game, what's its name and game code? Example: "Spyro 3 (SCES-02835)"
no game disc yet

Bug explanation:
_**Please write a detailed explanation on which issue are you experiencing.
The FreePSXboot worked like a charm for my SCPH-5501. When I tried the TonyHax method, the screen just froze at the Memory Card/CD Player screen even after more than 5 minutes.

I tried 2 different cards and it still froze. I tried the MemoryCard Formatter using the FreePSXboot --- reformatted back two cards I used for the Tonyhax successfully --- installed TonyHax again and still it froze. I doubt that i am using the wrong BIOS (v3.0).

Am I the only one having this issue here, guys?**_

Mmmm 1.3.2 was build using an older version of FreePSXBoot.

Could you please try using the Unirom version of the exploit and see if it works, to rule out that it's not a bug from upstream? https://github.com/brad-lin/FreePSXBoot#downloads

Yes I did test the latest one with 8.0H and it functions well (freepsxboot-unirom-fastload-20210505-bios-3.0-1996-11-18-A-8d8cb7e4.mcd)

You're welcome. Given this is a pretty important issue I'll be releasing 1.3.4 with this fixed soon-ish.
