Datapoints not merging in Garmin Connect

Since two weeks ago, I've noticed, that all the weight datapoints that are included in the synced fit file get inserted to Garmin Connect each time the sync runs. Before that, the datapoints with same timestamp got merged.
Currently it looks like this:

I guess there has been some change on the Garmin's side of things. Has anyone the same experience? Are there any new features in the fit file format? (perhaps some kind of data point id?)
I had to decrease the sync frequency, but it still creates quite many rows. (I'm syncing "last 14 days" window with my run script.)

I decreased the sync interval in cron to once per day to avoid multiple duplicate entries in Garmin Connect.
