I have several browsers installed, which I use for different purposes. Only a subset of these appear in junction, and are not all of the ones that I use for general browsing. An option to define which applications appear in the selector would be fantastic.

No, I'm not adding manual and tedious apps management.

But Junction should have a better UX for large number of options. My plans are to integrate type to search directly into Junction and possibly show more options over multiple lines.

How many browsers do you have?

I would disagree that it would be "tedious," since I assume that it would be optional (pull from config if config file exists, else autogenerate) and users would have to want to be doing this.

I couple of uses for this:

  • I have at least six browsers installed currently (and will probably gather more), only a subset of which I want/need to show up in junction, but all of which need have the correct xdg-mime for applications other than Junction which also use that info
  • It would be great to be able to add other applications or scripts to Junction which perform some action on a selected link (e.g. download content, template an email, add to a todo list, etc.)

I will add I am aware that this is just a request, given I don't currently have the time to draft up an implementation myself.

edit: This is the OP - I was in the wrong account when I originally posted.

Unrelated, and you can already do this. https://github.com/sonnyp/Junction#tips-and-tricks "Add custom scripts to Junction"
