So it's only an issue on the 2019 Lineup or are all affected? Is there anything we can help with from outside?
Btw. Torch Toggle says "Camera in use". Seems like there are deeper issues...!?

it looks like the issue is now on kernel side

The issue affects only tama and kumano, and only on kernel 4.19. An update to the kernel device-tree is needed. Until then, the kernel-side is not working, causing userspace to fail.

I tried unsuccessfully: sonyxperiadev/kernel@71b6b96

Looking forward to the fix. I'm using AOSP since some weeks now without any Camera functionality. There is also a new Xperia OS in the Pipeline and many Users would appreciate fully working Builds. Could You also look into the Mobile Data Issues maybe!? If this two things are fixed is everything fine i guess...

Is there any update on this issue? I have the same issue on my Xperia 5 J8210 (Single-sim).
My phone doesn't have cameras at the moment and I carry around my Nintendo 3DS XL to take pictures and the quality is terrible lol. I would really appreciate having my proper Xperia 5 camera up and running on AOSP! :)
Looking foward to see what the future may hold for this device with AOSP. 👍

The camera should work correctly on AOSP 11, which may be a suitable workaround for anyone affected.

Hey guys!

It would be incredibly appreciated if this issue could have a second look. I can not use any QR codes with the device under AOSP 12, which complicates authentication a lot with some apps at best.

It would be a life-saver to receive an update that gets the camera working under AOSP 12. Thank you for your time and hard work.
