We've added the ability to update the firmware via pull from both the AP config page and firmware serial menu. This is what it looks like:
In summary, you can update the firmware on a unit over WiFi without the need for downloading to an SD or a phone. You can update the unit's firmware by checking for the latest firmware from SparkFun (aka the RTK Binaries Repo). This should make it easier to upgrade devices in the future.

Install RC-Jan-19-2023 from here. This release is technically v2.7 but it has the OTA feature built in. Once it's running, enter AP config mode and navigate to the System Config menu. Then follow the animated GIF above. You will be given the opportunity to upgrade to v3.0.
Note: v2.7 and v3.0 are identical. I created v2.7 so that we can play with this new feature.
