Discussion and notes about v2.0 of Lagopus board

Goal

  • continue with direct I2C communication
  • up and down looking radiation sensors
  • include new sensor (VEML7700)
  • Improve packaging, weathering/installation/constrcuction
  • review I2C sensors online to check if any could be interesting add.

State of development.

New lagopus will incorporate:
Lagopus A:

Some sensor require some protection, like the AMS will need epoxy (find which type) for waterproofing.

Lagopus B

  • TMP117
  • BME280
  • SHT31

Then because of memory issue on the main we are thinking to build a SDI12 or I2C slave microprocessor (Arduino Nano or MKRZero) to handle the sensor directly and only be ON for sampling sensors

A GPS chip could be added to the arduino as well: Adafruit GPS breakout or Sparkfun Ubloc

Fog detection paper with the VCNL4200. There is this arduino library: https://www.arduino.cc/reference/en/libraries/crc-vcnl4200-library/
