What does the status in the notify request mean?

Hi,

I've been testing aroung with the notify method from the command line and successfully got responses everytime something changed.
But the response, does not make any sense to me.

The address, yes, thats important.
But what the hell is the status?
According to the source code it's something regarding the queue? But for me it's just an random string. What can i do with that?

Wouldn't it be more usefull to maybe include some informations like current confirmations etc in the response?
