Some time ago I decided to remain unemployed for over one year in order to focus on creating my own roguelike game. During that time I realised I'm fond more on creating architecture and tools than on the gameplay itself. That prompted me to enter open-source world, so that my effort is somehow utilised instead of falling into oblivion.

I extracted the universal parts of my codebase to two open-source projects: FloodSpill-CSharp (an efficient flood-fill algorithm implementation) and Osnowa (a roguelike framework with Unity integration). It took me days and months to adapt them for publishing, but the feeling of sharing something valuable with others was (and is) very rewarding for me.

Now I work part-time, so that I can have more time for my family and for game-related projects such as the two above.
