Who am I?

I'm Rémi: a Ruby on Rails programmer, a writer, and a former stained-glass maker.

I was a stained-glass maker for many years, then moved on to museums and switched to marketing for tech start-ups. Finally, in 2018, I decided to learn programming. It's quite the story!

I'm the owner of remimercier.com, where I share with the programming community what I learn while building software.

What's my jam?

In 2018, I started learning Ruby on Rails through a coding bootcamp. I immediately started writing about what I was learning while building Rails applications. And I've never stopped doing so!

In the past six years, I've written more than 60,000 words about programming, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, testing, refactoring, and managing your career.

Each year, more than +17,000 people read my posts. My articles are often featured in Ruby Weekly, Short Ruby, HN, etc…

Writing and sharing my journey is my way of giving back to the community. It's my own version of open-sourcing knowledge.
