Open Build helps small business and non-profits benefit from open source software, and connect with teams of developers.

We recruit, hire and educate software developers from all over the world to use open source software, learn best practices and processes to build better software and build their own agencies and companies to help benefit their local communities.

Our business is dependent on finding small business in need of software or technology help in emerging markets and countries as well as finding high caliber and high potential software developers who are underrepresented in tech.

  • Our primary open source application is a customized build of the Django based WagTail CMS. We love wagtail and how easy it is to customize and build web content that can integrate easily with an app platform.

  • We also build custom web apps, micro apps and help with support on cloud native and data pipelines. Our teams are always looking for new mentors from corporates, startups and especially open source contributors to help train, support and work with our junior developers and small business in need of help in developing communities.

Our goal is to support a rotating team of junior developers through internships that learn through on-the-job training by providing discounted or in some cases free software development services for small business in developing countries who need to get there business online to grown. Each intern or junior that graduates through our program receives a developer training certificate through open build as well as help with placement for full time position at one of our partner agencies or corporate donors.
