Do you think it's really needed? The file explorer updates automatically after you made changes in the filesystem with an external program (at least that's what I see on Linux).

My file explorer tab doesn't show the changes of my files. I need to restart spyder because there isn't a refresh button.

Actually I need to think about that because my nautilus doesn't show the changes of my files automatically too. I need to refresh each time pressing F5.
Maybe the problem is my OS.

Nop, the file explorer refreshes automatically after external changes
