First, thank you so much for making Halloy. It's just so beautiful and a joy to use. I also really appreciate your first-run experience with setting up the configuration. Very nicely done! Ok, enough sucking up, time for a question.

Would you be interested in a PR to maintain a snap of Halloy in the Canonical Snap Store?

It's one configuration yaml file and a shell script to coerce the configuration directory into the confined area.

I successfully registered the application name then built, published and tested the 2024.1 release. All working well so far!

I appreciate you already have a Flatpak, which does not interfere with that or suggest replacing it. It's just another option for Linux users. Also, Canonical are working on an all-snap build of the desktop this year, which will not have a straightforward capability to install debs or Flatpaks.

If you're not keen to take on ownership and maintenance of the snap package, no worries, I'll keep it up to date.

If you are interested, I'll do a PR with the necessary bits.

Thank you so much for the kind words, and the bug report earlier. Glad we got that fixed before the next release 😓
Regarding this question, i would rather not take ownership on a snapcraft snap, since i don't use it myself and I rather keep the repo as clean as possible.

I hope this doesn't discourage you; if you want to take the ownership and keep it updated you are more than welcome!
