Complex numbers can not be defined for variables

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Assign a complex number to a variable (a=i)
2. Try to recall the same variable in the next line

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see the stored number (i)
Instead NaN exception occurs

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Android 2.3.2,
Arity 1.27
