What is the problem you are seeing? Please describe.
The Top Apps listed on the Home tab of the Blockstack Browser are selected and ranked by their total earnings from App Mining. With the recent changes to app mining making the monthly max earnings considerably lower than before, these apps are likely to remain the top earners for long time to come, resulting in a static list of apps from the past.
How is this problem misaligned with goals of app mining?
More recently introduced or improved apps are not highlighted as Top Apps even if they could be more worthy than past top earners.
What is the explicit recommendation you’re looking to propose?
Change the listing criteria for Top Apps to recommend contemporary worthy apps to users. The criteria could be based on current app mining ranking, or perhaps a better criteria if we can find one.
What is the dry run period (if any)
N/A
Describe your long term considerations in proposing this change. Please include the ways you can predict this recommendation could go wrong and possible ways mitigate.
It will introduce users of the Blockstack Browser to recent apps and may make them more likely to continue using its listing of Top Apps for app discovery.
Additional context
Compare to the listing of Popular Apps on https://app.co/ which is based on app mining rank (not popularity).
