This project seems to be python2. Are there any plans to port it to python3?

There was a contribution some years ago to provide Python 3 compatibility for part of the library. However, there has been no specific effort to transition to Python 3.

If this library is still useful to others, updating it for Python 3 is definitely needed in 2023. I don't believe this to be a difficult task. This would be a lower priority for me to do, and others' efforts are welcome.

I took the time to look over the code. It should be fully Python 3 now. I also took the time to tweak some fo the formatting to ensure PEP-8 compliance.
