DEPRECATED: This project works with Helm v2 and has no place in the Helm universe with the introduction of Tiller-less Helm v3. I am currently still using Helm v2/Tiller at the time of writing, and will also try to help merge any PRs that appear. The .versions
file for Helm CLI will always be a Helm v2 version.
I found the multi-step instructions for deploying Tiller (the API server for Helm) were not going to be rememberable. Creating certificates, running the correct helm init
command, etc. So this project includes a helm-manager up
and helm-manager down
command to do it all for us.
To generate certificates and install Tiller into your current Kubernetes context:
export PATH=$PATH:$PWD/bin
helm-manager up
The output might look like:
Creating certificates, if missing...
Generating RSA private key, 4096 bit long modulus

To tear down Tiller and local Helm files:
export PATH=$PATH:$PWD/bin
helm-manager down

To cleanup/regenerate the certificates:
helm-manager clean
