Documentation error with nested namespaces

I have a file with comments for my namespaces like so:

/// <summary>The outer namespace.</summary>
namespace Outer { }

/// <summary>The inner namespace.</summary>
namespace Outer.Inner { }

That generated correct documentation for Outer.Inner but the summary of Outer combined the comments into "The outer namespace.The inner namespace".

Changing the namespaces to actually be nested fixed the problem though:

/// <summary>The outer namespace.</summary>
namespace Outer
{
    /// <summary>The inner namespace.</summary>
    namespace Inner { }
}
