After looking into Foundry toolkit I concluded that it can be integrated in tests as a blockchain abstraction tool.
I refactored the ganache prototype to use anvil and it seems to work fine. See prototype code https://github.com/stefandunca/test-bench/blob/main/go/eth_test/first/anvil_helpers.go
