I guess technically there are still a few hours left in May. Just kidding, but it would be nice to know if there are still plans to move forward with Suhosin or if this can be considered an inactive project for now. |
May turned out to be more busy than expected... And I will not rush on releasing something in the next few hours. However currently it looks like Suhosin will get a new maintainer in June. |
That's great news and thanks for the update. Have a nice day. |
Ubuntu and Arch have both removed suhosin from their repositories declaring it "upstream dead" |
That's great news from Suhosin! |
And now June has passed as well. If it's dead, can you just tell us it's dead? |
I'm going to just assume this project is dead. When major repositories remove a project it's a good sign the end has come. Hopefully, the new maintainer can revive it. However, a lot of damage has been done in regards to losing most of its user base. That can't easily be recovered as the reliability/trust of having a maintained project compatible with current versions of PHP has already been tarnished. Most people will be hesitant to use it in case there is a repeat, and their code which is dependent on Suhosin's security features/functions break without it. That being said, I do however wish the project the best and good luck! =o) |
Any news? |
