Describe the bug
the tray icon doesn't appear

• OS: Linux (Arch Linux (Endeavour distro) - KDE_plasma - Wayland )
• XDM Version 8.0.26-beta

Having same problem on Ubuntu (22.04) inside Wayland session.
I've noticed tray icon appears on x11 session but not on Wayland session.

• Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS - Gnome - Wayland
• XDM Version 8.0.26-beta

Same issue, the tray icon disappeared a few weeks back and nothing would bring it back. Around the same time, the Tixati tray icon disappeared but has since reappeared randomly today without any updates.

same here on kde plasma wayland and opensuse tumbleweed on XDM Version 8.0.29-beta

Same here on Nobora KDE plasma Wayland (Fedora based)

i use plasma 6 and the solution for me was to install libappindicator-gtk2/3
and force xdman to run on xwayland
GDK_BACKEND=x11 xdm-app
