Repo making use of core.worktree doesn't reopen correctly

Description

One of the repositories I always keep open has its work tree placed somewhere else than next to the repository itself (see this comment for a full description of the setup).

When closing Sublime Merge and reopening it, the list of commits is empty. The repository must be closed and reopened in order to have the list of commits again.
