Problem with adding links to content

I have this very strange issue with inserting/editing links.

Here is a SS of what is happening.

first is i highlight a word then would like to create link for this. but once i click create link, the modal shows with http:// but when i add details, the button to create the link is still disabled.

need help please, thanks!

When links are added within the editor, are you aware that they don't link out to the desired URL, but rather open a popup to allow editing the link, the popup should contain the link, that you can click on to check it's destination?

I'm hoping as there hasn't been a response since the end of March, that you were able to resolve your issue.
