Model: 14-inch RDP 1430
When plugging in the headphone jack, you get sound in the headphones, but sound still comes from the speakers (though at a little lower volume).

Analysis:

  • The 14-inch RDP-1430 (ES3816) driver does not have software switching of outputs
  • Jack detection seems to be failing or configured improperly
  • This issue was present on Ubuntu 16.04.3 (kernel 4.13.9) also - it just was not tested well enough
  • HiFi UCM config says: "Codec IC has only 1 analog out, switching SPK/HP is done externally, probably by means of some analog switch controlled GPIO"
