Issue when inserting in the middle of the text in a Checklist

Let's say I type a sentence in a checklist entry:

Then I realise I've forgotten the middle part, so I go back by tapping on the middle of the sentence, where I want to insert the correct additional text:

But after I type one character into the middle of the text, the caret immediately jumps to the end of the sentence:

Meaning, whatever I type next gets inserted in the end of the sentence instead.
