There were some discussions at the last board meeting that it is probably time to consider a large refactor of the project governance. This will have to end up in one or more SEPs but this is a place for preliminary discussions and wishlist collation.

What's the motivation for a "large refactor"?

I need to write up my thoughts and collect input from the board (was discussed at the last meeting) but the main motivations for me are:

  • Separate the executive (money) and advisory aspects of the board.
  • reduce bureaucratic overhead of the board.
  • Increase the say the contributors to the project have over it's decisions.
