Current behavior: when user switches from PDF element to something else, the PDF closes.

Desired behavior: option for individual PDFs to make them "sticky" (it doesn't close on element change)

Motivation: For looking up reference material, for investigating pieces of the PDFs more closely (possibly making closes, extracts etc. without needing to re-open and re-close PDF all the time)

Design: maybe simply toggle button for the PDF to be sticky or not?

Not likely to happen soon. It is not technically feasible at the moment.
