Considering the influx of spam from instances like mastodon.social, it did be nice to have this feature which is present in Mastodon.

A boolean setting in configuration file to restrict incoming DMs to follows only.

Describe alternatives you've considered.

Not aware of an alternative. I checked the documentation once, hope I did not miss an alternative solution.
