Describe the problem

svelte-add is a widely-used CLI that simplifies the integration of tools like TailwindCSS and PostCSS into existing codebases. However, the lead developer has begun creating a new tool, svelte-composer, intended as a replacement. This new tool appears to diverge significantly from the original vision of svelte-add.

Describe the proposed solution

Adopting svelte-add into the Svelte team’s control, either by taking over its development or creating a similar alternative, could significantly enhance the tool's usability and have a positive impact on the community. While this move might stretch resources, the direct oversight would ensure high-quality updates and maintenance, boosting Svelte's appeal and user satisfaction.

I'm not familiar with the differences between the two. What's your concern with there being a new version?

If the person most familiar with the tool thinks there should be a rewrite, I'm not sure how comfortable I would be second guessing that

See svelte-add/svelte-add#334. The rewrite is a technical decision. They're going to see if the name can be kept. I agree Svelte Add is great and we've gotten other suggestions to see if there's more we can do to help support and promote it, so we'll check with the authors about that.
