I suggest to implement the possibility to (import to the app and) run any ST binary. In my eyes this makes sense when there is a newer binary as currently implemented in the Android app.

I don't think this is a good idea. It's complicated, and there might be incompatibiliy with newer syncthing versions. It also bypasses any install restrictions (eg when installing apps from unknown sources is disabled).

But I will make sure to release new upstream versions sooner in the future.
