Why is TabHub subscription so expensive?

Hi, I was wondering why is TabHub so expensive, as much as Spotify, Netflix and the likes?

If I started using this extension, it would be for a lifetime and it just does not justify paying so much over the years.

I think that $1-$2 a month, similar to VPN is right for a keep it an forget it subscription, otherwise we will end up in a subscription hell. I am already paying for 3 other extensions, several twitter subscriptions, supporting people on youtube and patreon. It's horrible.

is this product dead? I don't see any updates anymore. If still being updated, then do you have a student discount? Thanks :)
