What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Extract file
2. Attempt to install 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect it to install. It says "No synaptics touchpad device found"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
i am using 1_0_5 on vista 64 bit

Please provide any additional information below.

The laptop is a compal jhl90, and i am using synaptics driver 11.2.2

Exactly the same problem.

Running Vista 64bit on Sony Vaio FW

Same problem for me as well. My device manager says Synaptics PS/2 Port 
Compatible
Touchpad. 

Running Windows 7 x64 on Dell Latitude D830

I understand this is a Samsung site, but it fixes it for some people. Ignore 
the part where it's German. It works fine in English:
