Simpler chord diagrams

Would it be possible to include a simpler way to render chord diagrams without requiring finger selection?

E.g. instead of

%7/2.X/X.7/3.7/4.6/1.X/X[Bm7b5]

, allow

7x776x [Bm7b5]

or even unnamed chords like

7x776x

?
