What's the syntax for passing sort options?

I'm trying this right now...

@client.list_opportunities(
            {
              status_type: 'active',
              sort: [
                direction: 'asc',
                field: {
                  object_type: 'opportunity',
                  field_name: 'lead_name'
                }
              ]
            }
