Mastodon seems to be the platform with the most current traction. I'm going to set up a public instance to play with on tusked.net. (See issue #2.) Sign-ups will be open and feedback appreciated.

nostr is also worth a look. Jack Dorsey seems to be a big supporter (both in usage and in money).
