How to - Upgrade iSpindel firmware

If you are running 5.xx you can update via ad-hoc network (192.168.4.1)

  • 1. OTA Upgrade - fw newer then 5.x.x
  • 2. Manual upgrade - fw older then 5.o.0



1. OTA Upgrade - fw newer then 5.x.x

If you are running 5.xx you can update via ad-hoc network (192.168.4.1)

  1. Download the latest firmware .bin-file -> Link
  2. Start your iSpindel in ad-hoc mode (wifi hotspot) and connect to the iSpindel wifi/SSID
  3. Open a web browser and navigate to http://192.168.4.1
  4. Choose "Maintenance"
  5. Choose "Upgrade ispindel"
  6. Brows to your downloaded .bin-file


2. Manual upgrade - fw older then 5.0.0

  1. Download and install the Wemos D1 Mini Driver -> Link
  2. Download the latest firmware .bin-file -> Link
  3. Download ESP8266Flasher -> Link x32 Link x64
  4. Connect iSpindel to your computer (USB) and switch it on
  5. Start ESP8266Flasher
    4.1. Go to "Operation"-tab: Choose COM-port for iSpindel
    4.2. Go to "Config"-tab: On the first line, brows to the downloaded .bin-file
  6. Go to "Operation"-tab:Choose "Flash" and wait for it to finish
  7. Turn the iSpindel off
  8. Disconnect iSpindel from USB
  9. Turn the iSpindel on and wait 30 seconds
  10. Done!
