  2. sign in
  3. start telegram
  4. start telegram
  5. keep repeating for weeks

Expected behaviour

Actual behaviour

More information

I have now been signed out three times (seemingly) randomly on my Windows 10 computer, two times on my iPhone and once on my iPad. I start the app and get "start messaging" as if I was never signed in to begin with. this is becoming really annoying (it first happened in december last year or january this year).

Configuration

Operating system:

Windows 10, iOS 11 (iPhone 7 and iPad Mini 3)

Version of Telegram Desktop:

1.2.17 (portable, Windows 10)

Used theme:

default

Maybe someone is signing you out? Please check active sessions in settings.
Also, please contact in-app support, we can't help you on TDesktop repo issues.

Nobody signed me out, and I'm having the same problem. Had to re-validate my phone number, enter first/last etc. (For a messaging tool used in crypto communities that value privacy, using the phone # as identifier is strange and annoying.)

Also, all messaging history is gone, and I'm no longer in any groups. Had to hunt for invites and so on.

I've been using Telegram on Ubuntu, with auto-update set to on.

@dandv I still have this problem. It happened last time a few days ago, and keeps happening every 1-6 weeks seemingly at random. No one is signing me out - I know that for a fact. As you point out, it seems ironic that a messaging service focused on security and privacy has this problem.
