if I click on a URL that wraps past the end of the screen, the part that wraps to the next line does not get highlighted. The terminal on my Mac supports this and it's so frustrating to have to highlight and copy and paste long URLs when using other terminals.

Ok, what you showed there works for me as well. The problem I'm having is from within weechat, which is a curses program. http://www.weechat.org/
I wouldn't guess there's anything specific to weechat so it seems likely that it would happen for any curses program.
Does that help reproduce?
The problem is, that weechat handles line wrapping by itself, while in the screenshot above lilyterm handles it. So if a url is broken in weechat, lilyterm does not know about it. In the Mac terminal it is probably solved by a nice hack: I guess the terminal looks into the continuation of the row and guesses if it could be part of the url. IMHO, not tested.
