Magboots allow you to run without slipping or walls, yet at the ultrafast nogravity speed when the gravity generator is off. This clearly isn't intended as it slows you down during gravity, and from a balance perspective this is a major issue, easily abused by engineers or any antag with an emag for EVA and a c4 for the gravity generator. Essentially it functions as an infinite backpack with no down side of space management.

(I mad I got robusted by magboot HoS after shutting down the gravity and taking a jetpack. Pls fix)

You get robusted by everyone though.

Having the slowdown during spacewalks would be really bad.

Speaking of magboots, they do not prevent space wind movement. Which is just sad.

SPACE WIND IS A BUG

Magboots moving at full speed when there is no gravity is a feature that is intentionally intended.

Seems fairly silly, Gia.

Where does the backpack come in? O.o

A jetpack in no gravity trades off speed for a vital backpack slot, meaning you can't effectively dual wield or else have no storage capacity. This is an important factor in nograv murderbone popularized by bluespace. Magboots entirely circumvent this drawback and are even easier to acquire than backpacks! I next time I roll antag I'll try them out properly.

I know, still it is intended.

I witnessed it first hand. You essentially gain a massive advantage and are encouraged to destroy the gravity.

I'd like to note that I've spent a month using this and killing about a dozen people every time I get traitor without much trouble.

I'm fairly robust but no one should be able to do that without some effort.

idk why remie did that, it was pretty obvious it was irrelevent. honk

It's retarded to compare it to a jetpack, because a jetpack works in space. It's what it's designed for. Magboots need ground. So yes, if you try to use a jetpack with stabilisation on, in station in the same way as magboots, they're inferior. Wow. Try use magboots like a jetpack though, see how well that goes.

Also you'd have to utnr your boots off just to go back into the station, because of space wind, jesus christ how horrifying.

And lets say this gets nerfed, what then? Chemists/miners spend 5 minutes to get a pill bottle worth of GOFAST, and then do the exact same thing.

Mowing down hapless peasants drifting around, with ebow+magboots+hardsuithelmet isn't exactly exciting, but it doesn't need the magboots to do it, and you still run into trouble when facing someone(s) mildly robust, with guns.

Hell, I could argue about doing genetics for 5 minutes, getting hulk for me and any other tator buddies and proceeding to wreck everything with dual e-sword, lube spray optional. But hell, I accept that there are UNFUN and EASY ways to murderbone. It's better to encourage people to just not be shitters, as oppose to being shitters until it gets nerfed.
