You can escape Perma alone, consistently. #62163

I thought this was common knowledge? like, as far as perma escape methods go, that's one of the slowest ones. also, that's a pretty cringe-ass mothblocks ruling. a prisoner can and should be able to escape perma if nothing's happening/no one's engaging with them, and if they do, sec can usually bop them pretty easily if they're competent. if sec isn't competent, the prisoner still doesn't have a license to kill them, so they're not much more harmful than, say, an extra clown or mime. also, labbing out/executing new perma escape routes is fun, and like half the fun of playing prisoner, IMO. can we get a policy thread or something on this? |
regardless, mooshimi, this isn't worthy of a FUCK tag. compare this to our other FUCK tagged issues; it's not really on the same scale. https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/issues?q=is%3Aissue+label%3AFUCK+ |
and if you're not talking about roundstart prisoners, don't we have a rule against GBJing people in inescapable 1x1 rooms and the like? how would throwing someone into an inescapable permabrig be any different? |
Prisoners shouldn't start with epipens and emergency tanks (except for plasmamen but that's another dilemma). |
@ATH1909 Solitary is a GBJ if you don't have anything smuggled in. As far as I know, there are no rules against it except don't be a dick. |

That one PR that makes outer airlocks lock up when a shuttle is not docked might be enough to close this if it gets merged. |

Here's about a nine-minute video of my poorly optimized escape:

Readers guide:
1: Start planting some ambrosia (probably not necessary if you are really good or a plasma man)
2: Smash a table with a stool to get metal, turn metal into metal rods.
3: smash a computer with the metal rod, acquire glass and cable
4: I made a shiv with the glass and a bedsheet but this is unnecessary. Might speed things up if you are good.
5: Break some more stuff for more wire (You can throw shives at vending machines to break them for 5 cable a piece which is pretty fast)
6: Make spear. (Technically you can shatter a window with a thrown shiv but it takes longer and will have you taking an extra shock)
7: Harvest Ambrosia
8: Break a window
9: Suit up with internals, pop your EpiPen, eat some ambrosia
10: Spacewalk to arrivals.
