-- this document is shared with @BatoolMM and her work on the project lifecycle. We're thinking about ways of writing these in a referential way

Summary of proposed chapter

This is from the application to the Turing Way Book Dash in November 2023:

In my interactions with research software engineers (RSE) and those in research infrastructure roles (RIR), I’ve observed an interest in better understanding and upskilling in formal project management (PM) methodologies they employ. A commitment to open science and reproducibility means we should make that tacit knowledge explicit. Drawing from my experience in translating these methodologies for the research projects I have managed and creating agile frameworks and roadmaps, I have identified the need for further discussions. My contribution to The Turing Way would bolster the “Project Design” section, offering researchers a foundation to design project infrastructure for coordinating the work of researchers and different RIRs like RSEs, Research Application Managers and Community Managers, and provide a shared clarity for coordination and collaboration in teams. It would be focused on PM more generally, and then have subchapters focused on particular methodologies/frameworks. I have already started conversations on the Turing Way Slack and am hosting a Turing Coffee Chat around these questions in the time leading up to the Book Dash.
