Record without fullscreen?

Requiring fullscreen for recording is getting in the way of me entering Helldivers 2 stratagem codes, because I want to read them while I type them.

Is there any way around that?

The need for full screen during macro recording is due to a limitation of how the browser behaves and interacts. There is nothing that the VIA app itself can change at the moment.
