Hi,
i've recently bought a macropad, i downloaded the software but the app stays all the time on the first page "Searching for devices" (see the image below).

Capture

Same thing happened on the website.

My macropad is this one: https://www.keebmonkey.com/products/megalodon-triple-knob-macro-pad

I've tried to change port on my pc i tried to restart the pc after the install but nothing.
PLEASE HELP!

Thanks in advance,

Ivan :)

Hi Ivan, thank you for filing an issue. Have you tried loading the json that is mentioned in https://wiki.keebmonkey.com/en/products/mmp. Instead of using the import menu option, you should be able to follow the instruction described in https://docs.cannonkeys.com/via-json-loading/. Let me know if that works for you.

I have the same issue with a keychron v5, I tried loading the json, it loads in the design tab, but I still see searching for device on the configure tab

Try loading them with "Use V3 Definitions" (Design tab) disabled. I've had this issue with my Q8 and Q10s.
May be worth updating Via/Keychron site docs to account for this as well.

Can confirm this issue still exists. I don't know where the issue lies, but this is ongoing, as I ran into this problem a few months ago as well.

I sent a message to Keychron support, but perhaps someone maintaining VIA can fix the issue instead. I have the Keychron K8 Pro.

Part of the issue is that the instructions in Keychron's blog post do not currently work, and should instead say to turn off "Use V3 definitions" when loading the json file.

It would also be helpful if Keychron included links to the json files (1) (2) from within the blog post or if VIA somehow had them pre-loaded so I don't have to go on a scavenger hunt for it.

I am also having this problem with the Keychron Q6. I have loaded the JSON file for my specific keyboard. The only other odd thing I'm seeing is that when I try to use the web version of VIA, I am prompted with an obviously scrambled USD HID Id as seen in this screenshot.

I am also in contact with Keychron support.

Doesn't work for me too. I have a Keychron Q3. 👎

Don't you guys just need to update your firmware to support VIA?

@Det87 I've already flashed the latest firmware to the keyboard. It made no difference.

I found a solution which at least works for me. I figured that the keyboard can't connect when it's connected to a USB hub. When I connect it directly to my PC it works without any problems.
