Describe the bug
The mod consumes a lot of system resources and degrades game performance.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Cause a lot of sounds, or simply enter a complex environment.
  2. Watch bad FPS & stuttering take place.

Expected behavior
The mod shouldn't have such bad performance.

Possible ways of addressing
The performance issues mostly stem from unnecessary branches and suboptimal raycasting code.
