Guesses/Score Incorrect?

To start with, I love the game, but I've been noticing in the last few days the total guesses seems off for me. For example, today I had 4 incorrect guesses and 32 correct guesses so my score should have been 36/37 but it showed 35/37. Yesterday I had 1 incorrect guess and 32 correct guesses so my score should have been 33/37 but it showed 34/37. I've only noticed this, this week and could find nothing online about others seeing this or an open issue here. FYI, I'm using FireFox 100.0 on a Mac. Thanks!

Could you send a screenshot of your game? Preferably zoomed out so we can see as much of the screen as possible.

Not quite sure what the problem is in these screenshots? ENJOY was your 35th word and also the last word you typed, which means your score should be 35/37, which is what you got.

I see the 35 count in the screenshot myself so maybe it's me but in this game, I used 3 "starter" words at the beginning to get some letter clues, then I guessed the 32 words correctly following that, other than one miss with SHALL/SHAWL so in my mind:

3 starter words, or incorrect guesses with SKATE/CRONY/FLUID
1 miss with SHALL/SHAWL
32 otherwise correct guesses
36 total guesses

I may be missing something as I can't reconcile that with the 35 screenshot. As I said, maybe it's me but I've thought this has happened 2-3 times over the last couple weeks, and had someone else say they had seen something similar recently. Apologies if it's in my head but thanks for taking a look.

You got lucky, SKATE was a target word

Ah, that would explain it, I obviously missed that. There was probably something similar happening with the other instances where I felt the score was off. Thanks for taking a look and the explanation. I'll pay closer attention going forward. Thank Bryan.
