Fix ssl build failure #525

The issue tracker does not have an issue for this task.

Description of the changes being introduced by the pull request:

securesystemslib (SSL) v0.10.8 introduced backwards-incompatible changes. This pull request updates affected modules so that they no longer reference obsolete SSL functions and schemata. Version 0.10.8 of SSL dropped PyCrypto and multiple-library support.
