To work the 'Current Folder or Directory' (i.e. cd in command window) needs to be selected as the dippa folder (i.e. the one where the main files are such as BIGdippa.fig).
This is because commands such as load([cd,'/variables/variablesA.mat']) are used. So if cd is different the GUI can't update variables.
